Help Make Youngs Road Safer for Everyone!
Attend the Amherst Town Board Meeting & Voice Your Concern
Key Problems – The Path is Not Safe for Our Children to Use!
· Narrow, slanted path directly next to speeding traffic (45+MPH)
· No separation and no barrier between pedestrians and vehicles
· Path often cluttered with debris and hard to navigate
· Creates a major gap in the local bike route network (Bike Buffalo Niagara regional bicycle master map and plan. )
Background: Years of Advocacy
The paved path along Youngs Road between Dauphin and Klein has been a concern for years. Since 2021, dedicated Royalwoods residents have worked tirelessly to call attention to unsafe conditions on the path – our only pedestrian connection to the rest of our community. The Amherst Traffic Safety Board (ATSB) made several important recommendations, but aside from some brush clearing in spring 2025, these have not been put into action. It’s time for the Town Board and Highway Department to listen and act!
Join Us: Demand Improvements!
Your support at the upcoming Town Board Meeting can help ensure this critical path is maintained and included in future improvement plans. If you cannot attend, contact the Town Board and Hwy Dept. Let’s work together for a safer, more connected neighborhood!
