The Issue

LittleBigPlanet was not just a video game. For so many of us, it was our childhood, our creativity, and the first place we ever felt like our ideas mattered. It was where we stayed up late building worlds, sharing levels, listening to the music, and feeling proud of something we made with our own hands. That feeling doesn’t disappear just because time passes. Some of us grew up with LittleBigPlanet. We learned how to create before we even knew what game development was. We learned how to express ourselves before we knew how to explain our feelings. For a lot of kids, this game was the first time we realized we weren’t just players, we were creators. LittleBigPlanet didn’t fade away because people stopped caring. People never stopped caring. The game went quiet because technology moved on, servers aged, and the industry changed. But the heart of LittleBigPlanet never left. People still talk about the levels they made, the characters they designed, the music they remember, and the friends they met. That doesn’t happen with games that don’t matter. This petition is not asking Sony to remake the past. We know the past is gone. What we are asking for is for Sony to recognize that the spirit of LittleBigPlanet is still alive and that it deserves a future. A soft reboot wouldn’t erase what came before. It would give it new life, new tools, and a new generation of creators who are waiting for something like this without even knowing it yet. Creativity-focused games are bigger than ever now. Communities are built around creation, sharing, and expression. LittleBigPlanet was doing this before it was popular, before it was trendy, before it was expected. It helped shape what gaming looks like today, and its influence is still everywhere. This is not a passing request. This is not nostalgia talking. This is a community that grew up and never forgot where it came from. The desire for LittleBigPlanet to return in some form will not disappear. New players will keep discovering it. Old players will keep talking about it. This conversation will happen, whether now or later. We are not demanding a game. We are asking Sony to listen, to acknowledge what this series meant, and to understand that LittleBigPlanet is not finished in the hearts of the people who grew up with it. This mattered to us. It still matters. And it will continue to matter. Signed by players who didn’t just play LittleBigPlanet, but were shaped by it.
