Last night's meeting was amazing. Each and every one of the two dozen + citizens that spoke (in a room of 60+ people) had something sincere, thoughtful, smart, funny, and important to say. And that's the point. Our City's elected officals and staff need us.

Thank you for making a difference in our community and the future of Durango at a critical time in its growth and development. This feels like a big accomplishment - though we all believe we shouldn't have to work so hard to have a voice in our town government - and the work we started also feels like it has just begun. 

We'll be riding herd on Council and staff to create opportunities for public engagement in this and so many other issues vital to the future of our community.

For now, let's take stock of our great work, together, and enjoy a long weekend. If you are riding or spectating the Iron Horse, best of luck and have fun!
