A petition asking Rep. Rich McCormick to debate Democratic nominee, Tony Kozycki.
The Issue
On June 30, 2026, Democratic nominee Tony Kozycki formally invited Representative Rich McCormick to participate in a series of six debates ahead of the November general election; one in each of the six counties that make up Georgia's 7th Congressional District: Dawson, Lumpkin, Cherokee, Hall, Fulton, and Forsyth. Kozycki proposed a schedule running from mid-August through early October, before early voting begins, and requested a response from Rep. McCormick's campaign by July 10, 2026.
All voters, in every part of this district, deserve the chance to hear directly from the people asking to represent them in Congress, not just through TV ads and mailers, but face to face, answering the same questions, in front of the communities they want to serve. A single debate in one corner of the district isn't enough for an area as large and diverse as GA-07. Six debates, one per county, gives every community a fair chance to see both candidates side by side.
We, the undersigned voters and residents of Georgia's 7th Congressional District, respectfully call on Representative Rich McCormick to accept Tony Kozycki's invitation for a nonpartisan debate series and commit to a minimum of one debate in each of the six counties that make up Georgia's 7th District.
Proposed Schedule:
Dawson County (wk of Aug 17)
Lumpkin County (wk of Aug 24)
Cherokee County (wk of Sept 14)
Hall County (wk of Sept 21)
Fulton County (wk of Sept 28)
Forsyth County (wk of Oct 5)
We invite all voters in Georgia's 7th district to sign this petition, regardless of party affiliation. The future of the district is important and the voters should have a chance to hear from these candidates running to represent them.
