A Matter of Trust: Restoring the Soul of Our Community’s Legacy
The Issue
The Konkan Muslim Education Society (KMES) has been an instrumental force in providing quality education and fostering a strong sense of Society within Bhiwandi, Maharashtra. This thriving institution owes its foundation to the generous gift of 5 acres of land made by Mr.Ab Qadir Jairumi & Mr Gulam Nabi Jairumi, Bolinjkar brothers of Bhiwandi. It is a piece of history that the current and future generations should carry forward with pride and gratitude. The contribution made by the Jairumi-Bolinjkar family in donating land for the establishment of KMES is a testament to their magnanimity and foresight.
This generous act paved the way for countless students from the Society to receive an education and better their lives. Indeed, the land upon which KMES stands is a symbol of goodwill and dedication to the advancement of education.
They gave this land as Sadaqah Jariyah, trusting that the Konkan Muslim Education Society (KMES) would guard this gift for generations.
Today, that land is the foundation of our children’s dreams. But while the buildings have risen, the names of those who provided the ground beneath them have been systematically silenced.
This is no longer just a family matter. It is a matter of Trust (Amanah) and Community Integrity.
1. The Moral Crisis of Ingratitude
The Quran commands us: “Is the reward for excellence [anything] but excellence?” (Surah Ar-Rahman 55:60). How can we claim to provide an Islamic
education while practicing the erasure of gratitude? By hiding the founder's legacy, we teach our students that sacrifice is temporary and gratitude has an expiry date. We risk raising a generation that values "taking " over "giving".
2. A Society without memory is a society without a soul.
Honoring the Jairumi-Bolinjkar family does not take away from today’s leadership; it gives the institution a soul.
3. Justice Over Gatekeeping.
Allah (SWT) says: “Stand firm for justice... even if it is against yourselves” (Surah An-Nisa 4:135). It is a grave injustice to deny qualified members of the founding family their rightful place in the Society while granting membership to those with no historical stake, no relevant Social work experience, or Educational Qualification.
We requested for 3 simple acts of justice to restore this broken trust:
1)Rename the main entry points as the Haji Abdul Qadir Jairumi Gate and the Haji Ghulam Nabi Jairumi Gate.
2)Establish an annual award in their names to celebrate excellence.
3) End the unjust exclusion of the founding family from Patron Membership.
KMES is a sacred trust belonging to the Ummah, not private property. When we stop honoring the founders, we lose the Barakah (blessing) that comes from truth.
We request Community Members to sign this petition, which is a witness (Shahadah). By signing, you are telling the KMES leadership that the community remembers its roots. You are standing for the principle that Amanah must be respected and that history cannot be "gatekept" by the few.
Let us ensure that the spirit of selfless giving never dies in Bhiwandi. Let us show our children that in our community, truth and gratitude are forever.
With heavy hearts but unwavering faith,
The Jairumi-Bolinjkar Family & The Concerned Community.
