A GLOBAL YOUTH PETITION — MAR THOMA CHURCH From Tradition to Transformation

The Issue

We are youth and young adults of the Mar Thoma Church united by love for our faith, and a deep, aching concern for its future.

Many of us grew up within these walls  in Sunday School, Youth Fellowship, Choir, and retreats. The Church shaped who we are. It is woven into our earliest memories, our identity, and our love for God.

But somewhere along the way, many of us began to feel disconnected. The sermons we hear often don't speak to the real challenges we face today in our studies, relationships, workplaces, and mental health. We leave church inspired by tradition, but still spiritually hungry for something deeper, something practical, something that walks with us through Monday morning.

This is not a petition of criticism. It is a petition of renewal. It is a generation reaching out to its Church not to tear it down, but to ask it to rise. To preach as Jesus did: meeting people exactly where they are, speaking to the wounds they carry, and sending them home transformed.

We have spoken to young Mar Thomites across North America, Australia, the United Kingdom, and India. The voice is the same everywhere. We are still here. We still believe. We still want to belong. But we need the Church to walk with us not away from us.

Together, we call for a stronger, more vibrant Church that invests in its next generation through purposeful preaching, relevant ministry, and shepherds who know the names of their flock.

We believe in the Mar Thoma Church.
We want to see it thrive in this generation and the next.
