Title: A Global Call to Control River and Sea Levels to Prevent Floods and Wildfires
By Rory Askins, Ireland | Feb 23, 2020

The Problem
Floods and wildfires are increasingly devastating communities around the world. These disasters are costly, deadly, and largely preventable. While some regions suffer from water scarcity, others are overwhelmed by excess. Why not redistribute this water to where it’s needed most?

The Solution
We should globally coordinate the control and management of river and sea levels. Excess water can be pumped, using renewable energy (solar, wind), into storage systems—such as tanks or underground reservoirs. This stored water can then be redirected to areas facing drought, like parts of Australia, through treatment and distribution systems.

Key Components
Water Redistribution: Excess river and sea water should be stored and redirected to drought-prone regions.
Sprinkler Systems for Wildfires: Install sensor-based sprinklers in vulnerable areas, powered by stored water, to prevent or control wildfires.
Flood Prevention Infrastructure: Use sensors to monitor water levels in rivers. When levels rise, automatically pump water into reservoirs or treatment plants.
Rainwater Harvesting: Laws must allow and encourage households to collect and use rainwater with basic filtration systems.
Smart Planning Laws: Encourage self-sufficiency by allowing solar panels, personal wind turbines, and off-grid living options.
Cost vs. Prevention: The cost of implementing these systems is far less than the repeated financial and human cost of natural disasters.
Employment Opportunity: These systems would create jobs in design, construction, and maintenance worldwide.
Common Objections Addressed
Cost: Disaster recovery already costs billions. Prevention is a wiser long-term investment.
Aesthetics: Wind turbines and infrastructure may alter landscapes, but they’re far less damaging than floods or wildfires.
Space Travel: Redirect funding from space exploration to Earth-saving infrastructure.
Broader Benefits
Lower utility bills through solar-powered homes.
Fairer housing systems by decentralizing development away from major cities.
Environmental protection through proactive climate response.
Final Thoughts
These ideas may sound ambitious or unconventional, but so did microwaves, fridges, and solar panels once. With joined-up global thinking and political will, they are achievable. It’s time we stop reacting to crises and start preventing them.

heres some links below of current news stories about floods and fires .remember australian wild fires recently there still burning, my ideas would prevent this happening again in the future if only someone would listen.
