A global appeal to end human rights violations by the American president against Iran
The Issue
Support for Peace and Opposition to Oppression and Injustice
These days, it seems like imperialist powers are hell-bent on robbing the world of peace and security, all in the name of their own interests. They flaunt their might globally, dabble in the trade of deadly weapons, snatch up natural resources, control trade routes, assert political dominance, impose cultural norms, stir up unrest, create social and ethnic rifts, fuel sectarianism, and economically chain nations. This is all part of their playbook. Consequently, they’re working hard to crush the revolution that stands as a beacon of hope for the oppressed and marginalized people everywhere.
With Iran’s humanitarian perspective in mind, our nation—India—has always championed peace, reconciliation, and justice, which is why we chose not to support any resolution against Iran. This decision by our Prime Minister and government sets a powerful example for all those who value justice and seek peace around the globe.
When the threats, sanctions, and military maneuvers from the United States and its allies fell flat, the U.S. resorted to a humiliating stance. Just as they targeted the President of Venezuela, they’re now hurling insults and threats at Ayatollah Khamenei, even going so far as to make abduction-like threats. This behavior is nothing short of state terrorism. We firmly reject the idea that nations can be reshaped through force or that peace can be achieved by intimidating leaders. History shows us that such tactics only lead to war, chaos, and human suffering.
We unequivocally condemn, in the strongest terms possible, the cruel and inhumane threats—like abduction—issued by American officials against Ayatollah Khamenei, and we will not stand for it. These statements not only attack the Shiite system of religious authority but also blatantly violate international laws regarding state sovereignty.
