A Council in Dublin has decided to kill any restricted breed including pups

The Issue

A Dublin Council are currently putting any restricted breed down that enters their pound.

If it is an XL bully, it is killed.  If it is a German Shepard pup it is killed.

They refuse to work with shelters to rehome the dogs.

There is no reports or evidence that they have spoken to a k9 behaviorist or even done a consultation.

There is no evidence if the dog is dangerous nor is the dogs behaviour being tested.

It would seem they have made this decision on the basis of their staff and some cllrs, who no doubt are scared of big dogs.

We believe this could be a pilot from a wider group such as the DAFM working group  that banned xl bullies recently.  Could they be trying to ban all controlled breeds from Ireland?

They may be trying to remove all controlled breeds from Ireland?

Some of the so called animal shelters that participated in the working group which the Minister, Heather Humphries put together to assess if the ban of the xl bully's is a viable decision -  are Dogs Trust, ISPCA and MADRA..

We are asking for your help to stop this madness.

We will be sending on a letter shortly that you can copy and sign to send to your local TD's, and we will hold a protest.  For now - please get the word out, sign the petition to stop this absolute heartbreaking decision by the council and please stay with us, help us to make this kind of decision never EVER happen again.
