The community of East Preston is one of Canadas oldest Black Indigenous communities that has been neglected by the Nova Scotia Government for decades. 

The community is asking for several necessities that others are simply given without question. These items are fundamental to the safety and prosperity of its members and include the following:

- Sidewalks

- Crosswalks

- Lower Speed Limits

- Reasonable Bus Scheduling (more than 4 poorly timed stops a day)

- Bus Shelters

- Walkable Path/Greenways
