Visayan Electric Co. (VECO), ECQ Overbilling REFUND Now!

The Issue

The recent collection notices of the Visayan Electric Company (VECO) every single consumer in Metro Cebu. Like Meralco, they have erronnous increases amidst the quarantine period.

We are asking the Senate committees  on Energy to conduct an inquiry and make VECO accountableWe, Cebuano consumers, clamor for the refund and scrapping of additional charges during the quarantine period that ballooned of our monthly electric billing. We were surprised and shocked why Visayan Electric Company (VECO) has implemented these so-called ECQ bills during the COVID-19 pandemic.

We strongly believe that the second largest power utility in the country has CHEATED and DEFRAUDED us, VECO customers. Imagine, our monthly billings doubled. Meanwhile, millions lost work, suffer hunger, and now wallow in poverty. Instead of helping, VECO instead exploited us.

As of now, a complaint had been filed with the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC).

Still we, Cebuano consumers, plead for your immediate intervention. Please conduct a Senate Inquiry on the increases of the amount VECO had been billing us for the use of electricity during this time of crisis. We believe such a move would benefit millions of consumers of VECO in Metro Cebu.
