It’s been a busy week for New Orleans Safe … your voice was heard loud and clear on The steps of city hall …  and we will keep posting and pushing for a New Orleans Safe. Our movement is growing because each one of you is doing your part … from the first time you signed on and everytime you’ve  asked friends, neighbors  and family to sign … please continue to ask folks to sign … if each of us this week gets one more signature we will be at 8000! And we will keep going until we get the help we need … speaking of help … right now if Mayor Cantrell calls the Gov. And asks for National Guard assistance it would happen.

If you can, forward this petition to Mayor Cantrell and simply say “please for a New Orleans Safe for all … we support you taking action to protect women, children, families and neighborhoods”  … mayor@nola.gov

To clarify …
It’s One call ya’ll. Mayor Cantrell makes one call to Gov. Bel Edwards asking him to imbed National Guard in each NOPD district to support patrols, service calls, community engagement, answer phones and be present in our neighborhood. That would be a New Orleans Safe. This would be HUGE.

How many times have we heard … “The Guard can’t come and assist!” Even a city council member erroneously and publicly stated that the guard wasn’t trained to help.” That’s simply not true.

So I reached out privately to confirm what I know to be truth … and I was able to speak to national guard admins off the record  - to double check - and they said 100 percent  - ASKING for THE GUARD in this SITUATION is within the mission of the GUARD. FYI:  It is not martial law!

If the Governor calls up the Guard to support the NOPD they would be proud to serve. In New Mexico their National Guard was called up to teach school. In Massachusetts, The Gov. Called up the Guard to drive school busses. New Orleans is 500 officers short right now. Our citizens are terrified and the solution is just a phone call away …

New Orleans Safe has  grown to over 4300 signatures … all of us advocating in unison … our call for action is a great short-term assist … we’ve solved a problem …

Let’s  give the Mayor the support and courage to make that call … that call can saves lives, change our lives and make New Orleans Safe.

Again, Please, If you can, forward this petition to Mayor Cantrell and simply say “please for a New Orleans Safe for all … we support you taking action to protect women, children, families and neighborhoods”  … mayor@nola.gov
