新聞報道のあり方によって、国民の投票行動が民主党に誘導されたという事実が2009年の衆議院選挙においてあった。この結果、民主党政権が樹立され、日本は中国や北朝鮮からの軍事的な脅威にさらされたり、デフレ不況が長引くといった国難を日本国民は経験した。民主党政権樹立の要因の一つにマスコミの報道があげられる。特に新聞社は言論の自由を行使する立場にはあるが、その報道ぶりを見る限りにおいて、必ずしも政治的な中立を守り、公正な報道をしたとはいえまい。このような政治的に中立と言えない報道に対して、国民が[NO!]を表明できる仕組み作りを構築したい。また、新聞社ができる限り多様な論点から、政治を捉え、国民に対し、公正な情報提供をする必要があります。
