44 yrs for non aggregated crimes

44 yrs for non aggregated crimes
The Issue
Thomas Kerley was a troubled youth who made mistakes, as many do, but the punishment imposed on him far exceeds the nature of his offenses. Despite this, he has spent over two decades rehabilitating himself, growing into an upstanding man who has shown nothing but resilience, responsibility, and a true commitment to change. He is not the same young man who entered prison all those years ago.
One of the most defining moments that speaks to his true character is when he selflessly saved me from being assaulted, stepping in as a complete stranger without hesitation. His courage and sense of justice that day were a testament to the kind of person he is at his core. His strength and goodness extend beyond just that one act—his children desperately need their father, and his mother is struggling without him. His absence has created an unbearable hardship for those who love him, and he deserves the opportunity to be present for them.
Rehabilitation and redemption should be a cornerstone of our justice system. Thomas J Kerley has served more than enough time for his offenses. His continued incarceration does not serve justice; it only deepens the suffering of his loved ones while depriving society of a man who could contribute so much more outside of prison walls.
I urge you to review his case with fairness and compassion. I, along with many others, strongly believe he deserves clemency, a reduced sentence, or parole. He has already proven he is capable of being a positive force in the world, and keeping him incarcerated any longer is a disservice to justice.
Please consider granting him a second chance at life. Thank you for your time and attention to this matter. I am more than willing to provide additional information or support in any way necessary.
