We the undersigned would like to see a 20mph zone trialled and other traffic measures explored in the residential streets of Stourbridge’s Old Quarter.

Many parents and residents are alarmed at the speed of some cars down the narrow streets of the Old Quarter which is both very unpleasant and extremely dangerous to children and pets.  The actions of young children are not always predictable.

Children from many streets close to Hill Street make their way daily on foot with their parents to and from Greenfield School. In close vicinity to the school is a corner shop and Greenfield gardens with its play area, both of which attract children.

We are therefore asking Dudley Council to trial a 20 mph speed limit in the following streets in the Old Quarter:

Albert Street ,Bright Street, Brook Street, Borough Crescent, Bowling Green Road, Baylie Street, Beale Street, Cathcart Road, Cecil Street, Charles Road, Cobden Street, Clark Street, Cleveland Street, Clifton Street, Cross Street, Duncombe Street, Green Street, Greenfield Ave, Heath Street,Hill Street, Lawn Ave,Lawn Street, Lion Street ,Mamble Road, Pargeter Street,Swan Street, South Ave, Western Road, West Street, Wheeler Street, Unwin Crescent.
