2 ASSAULTS on the school bus, Chaperones on Comprehensive School buses

2 ASSAULTS on the school bus, Chaperones on Comprehensive School buses
The Issue
My son was assaulted on the way home from school by another pupil who sprayed body spray into his face on the 6th of june 2024 and now My other son just came home from school 12th of June and a boy touched him down below while in the bus. This is the 2nd assault in a few days
I asked the school can you now accept there's a problem on your buses and that they need chaperones his words were "it's not something our school will do"
The school is not taking this matter or any other problems that have occurred on the buses seriously.
St cenydd comprehensive school states that they have zero tolerance to bullying but incidents like these are becoming too frequent, and it's clear that additional supervision is needed to ensure the safety of all students.
Chaperones can help prevent bullying, manage conflicts, and provide a safer environment for our children during their commute. Parents in Abertridwr or Senghenydd should not have to worry about their children's well-being while they are traveling to and from school.
According to the Education and Inspections Act 2006 the Head Teacher of a State school must have measures to prevent bullying (s.89 (1)(b) .
Also, according to s.89(5) this includes (where reasonable) behaviour when not in the school premises and not under the charge of a staff member.
So please sign this petition to urge St Cenydd School and local authorities to implement chaperones on all school buses immediately!
