The latest news is that the conditional offer has been withdrawn and with the current covid situation new offers have not been forthcoming. This is yet another opportunity to mobilise support and move towards a solution for the wider Whau community. 

The council are still not going to buy or save this block of land so the alternative is to wok towards an environmentally sensitive development that annexes the trees off as a conservation reserve and tap into private and public financing to collaboratively protect and manage the trees in perpetuity.
