A Beautiful New Sponsorship: Visual Artist Alejo Porras Will Help Tell Theo’s Story
We are honored to share another beautiful sponsorship for Theo’s graduation celebration.
Visual artist Alejo Porras pronounced ah-leh-ho has generously offered to sponsor Theo’s event by creating a visual storytelling piece that captures Theo’s journey, our family’s fight, and the heart behind Theo’s Law.
Alejo grew up in Costa Rica wanting to learn all the languages in the world so he could connect with as many people as possible. Instead, he learned to draw.
Today, Alejo uses visual storytelling to help people understand, remember, and connect with powerful ideas. He partners with brands, event planners, and organizations to create visual notes and summaries that make important stories unforgettable.
For Theo, this means so much.
Theo earned his diploma, but he never got his graduation moment in 2020 because he was living in a medical facility under lockdown. For years, our family fought to make that right. That fight became the foundation for Theo’s Law, a proposed policy to help ensure that no student is excluded from graduation because of disability, medical need, or circumstances beyond their control.
At Theo’s celebration, Alejo’s art will help show the full journey: exclusion, advocacy, persistence, hope, and finally Theo’s long-awaited moment.
We are deeply grateful for Alejo’s generosity, creativity, and willingness to use his gift to help amplify this mission. His work reminds us that stories can be heard in many ways through words, through art, and through the dignity of being seen.
