My heart is heavy as I write this. A cornerstone of our community, the revered West End Neighbourhood Centre, is slated to close its doors for good on 31st March 2025 by Leicester City Council ‼️

With it will be lost an irreplaceable refuge, a hub of support that has so far served over 2,000 members of our community every month. 

The Centre is a lifeline for the diverse groups that call it home - Charities, Churches, and the Lunch Services, including the beloved Asian Lunch Seva. Through their admirable efforts, they have played a formidable role in feeding our neighbourhood, nourishing not just our bodies, but our spirits.

Here, everyone, regardless of their walk of life, is embraced and supported. From the warm lunch on a cold day to the camaraderie of shared laughter and shared burdens, the Centre stands tall as the warden of our community's welfare.

Today, our Centre faces a looming threat. But all is not lost, for the Asian Lunch Seva, along with a group of devoted representatives, is prepared to take over and continue the good work of the Centre for ALL connected parties. They are our hope, our chance to keep this vibrant community centre thriving.

But we need your support. We petition the Council to reevaluate their decision to close the Centre. The impact of this decision will be far-reaching and devastating, directly affecting the many organizations and individuals who depend on it.
