可以帶來這希望的曙光的，是設立公平、公正的獨立調查委員會

The hope may be brought by establishing a fair and impartial Independent Commission of Inquiry (COI)

這是眾多香港人橫跨政治背景和身份的共同訴求

This is the most common urge of all of you, Hong Kong people, across the political spectrum and background

獨立調查委員會，能：

The COI is able to:

-全面還原自反修例風暴引發之事件的真相，整個事件的來龍去脈

-ascertain comprehensively the truth and the roots of the events triggered by the movement against the now-withdrawn extradition bill

-為將來執政者和社區啟示教訓，為重新出路創造條件

-give the future leaders and the community enlightenment, paving the way of  progress

-例如透過徹查主要持份者，即香港政府、警隊、示威者等的角色和責任

-for example, by investigating the roles and responsibilities of the various stakeholders since the movements, including the HK Government, the HK Police Force, the protesters and the like

-亦徹查關於部分警隊和示威者富爭議性的議題，例如警隊被指過度使用武力和濫權問題，以及示威者抗爭漸趨武力的性質等

-investigate the controversial issues regarding the Force and the protesters, for instance, the alleged police brutality and its abuse of power; also, the nature of the violence used by the protestors
