私たちは、早稲田大学IPSの留学生です。

早稲田IPSでは、約90％が留学生であり、その中ほとんど寮に住んでいます。しかし、現在のところ、学位授与式は留学生寮退去後の時間帯に設定されており、多くの人が参加することが難しい状況が作られています。

2023年の場合、

• 9月卒業生学位授与式が9/19で、退去の時間が8月中旬。
• 3月卒業生の学位授与式が3/26で、退去の時間が3月中旬。

このような状況は公平ではありません。私たちも同じく大切な一日を祝う権利があります。それならば、なぜ我々留学生だけが不便を強いられるべきでしょうか？

そこで我々は提案します。合理的な時間帯に学位授与式を開催するよう要求します。これにより全ての卒業者が平等に参加できる機会を得ることが可能となります。

不公平を感じた卒業生、これから卒業を向けている在学生、現状を変えたい方々と共に署名してください。全ての学生が公平かつ適切な形で誰でも、2年間の努力の成果が授与される大切な学位受領式を参加できる、そんな環境を実現させましょう。

We are international students at Waseda University IPS.

Approximately 90% of students at Waseda IPS are international students, and most of them live in dormitories. However, as of now, the degree ceremony is scheduled to take place after students have moved out of the international student dormitory, making it difficult for many people to attend.

In the case of 2023,

The graduation ceremony for September graduates was on September 19th, and the time to move out was mid-August.
The degree ceremony for March graduates was March 26th, and the time to move out was mid-March.

This situation is not fair. We too have the right to celebrate this important day. If that's the case, why should we international students be the only ones forced to suffer this inconvenience?

So we make a proposal. Request that the degree ceremony be held at a reasonable time. This allows all graduates to have an equal opportunity to participate.

Please join us in signing this petition with alumni who have felt injustice, current students who are about to graduate, and those who want to change the current situation. Let's create an environment where all students can participate in the important degree ceremony where they are awarded the fruits of their two years of hard work in a fair and appropriate manner.
