The Chinese embassy in the UK has expressed outrage over the BBC's Olympic coverage of Taiwan. A spokesperson repeated the false claim that Taiwan is part of the People's Republic of China (PRC). He added, “This objective and unquestionable fact will not change, nor will it change the international consensus to maintain the ‘One China Principle'.”
The bluster and lies appear to be backfiring. It is generating a significant amount of media coverage which is increasing scrutiny of China's false claims of sovereignty over Taiwan. Instead of convincing more people to believe the "one China" lie, more people are waking up to the fact that it is a lie, and they are supporting Taiwan!
