बिषय: प्रवासी नेपाली नागरिकलाई मतदान अधिकार सुनिश्चित गर्ने बारे

सम्माननीय प्रधानमन्त्रीज्यू,

विश्वभर रहेका प्रवासी नेपालीहरूको तर्फबाट हामी विनम्रतापूर्वक अनुरोध गर्दछौँ—सबै नेपाली नागरिकलाई, चाहे उनीहरू देशभित्र हुन् वा बाहिर, संविधानले दिएको मौलिक मतदान अधिकार सुनिश्चित गरियोस्।

पूर्व प्रधानन्यायाधीशको रुपमा तपाईँले देखाउनुभएको कानूनको शासनप्रतिको दृढ अडान र समावेशी लोकतन्त्रप्रतिको प्रतिबद्धता अहिलेको संवेदनशील समयको लागि अत्यन्तै मूल्यवान् छ।

हाल अनुमानित ३५ लाखदेखि ७० लाख नेपालीहरू देशबाहिर रहेका छन्। उनीहरूले लामो समयदेखि नेपालको अर्थतन्त्र र विकासमा महत्वपूर्ण योगदान पुर्‍याउँदै आएका छन्। त्यसैले उनीहरूलाई नेपालको राजनीतिक भविष्य निर्धारणमा आवाज दिने अधिकारबाट वञ्चित गर्नु लोकतान्त्रिक न्यायसंगतता विपरीत हुन्छ।

हामी जान्दछौँ, यस्तो सुधार चुनौतीपूर्ण छ। तर, राजनीतिक इच्छाशक्ति र न्यायपूर्ण दृष्टिकोणले मात्र यसलाई सम्भव बनाउन सकिन्छ भन्नेमा हाम्रो विश्वास छ।

अत: कृपया प्रवासी नेपाली नागरिकलाई बाह्य मतदान अधिकार सुनिश्चित गर्ने प्रक्रिया सुरु गर्न दृढ पहल गर्नुहोस्। यसले नेपालको लोकतान्त्रिक आधारलाई अझ सबल र समावेशी बनाउन निर्णायक योगदान दिनेछ।

Subject: Ensuring Voting Rights for Nepali Citizens Abroad

Honorable Prime Minister,

On behalf of Nepali citizens living across the world, we respectfully request your government to ensure the constitutional right to vote for all Nepali citizens, whether they reside inside or outside the country.

As a former Chief Justice, your strong stance for the rule of law and commitment to inclusive democracy are invaluable at this sensitive time of national leadership.

It is estimated that between 3.5 to 7 million Nepalis currently live abroad. They have long been making significant contributions to Nepal’s economy and development. Denying them the right to participate in shaping the country’s political future contradicts the principles of democratic justice.

We understand that such reform is challenging. However, we firmly believe that with political will and a fair vision, it is both possible and just.

Therefore, we sincerely urge you to take decisive steps to initiate the process of guaranteeing external voting rights for Nepali citizens abroad. Doing so will strengthen and broaden the democratic foundations of Nepal.
