نحن الموقعين أدناه، مجموعة من القيادات المدنية والسياسة والاكاديميين، والقوى الديمقراطية عموماً، نقف ضد الحرب الجارية في بلادنا، والتي أشعلها التيار الأصولي الشمولي للحركة الإسلامية بين القوات المسلحة وبين قوات الدعم السريع. إنها حرب المنتصر فيها خاسر، تقوم على أشلاء الضحايا الأبرياء، وتسعى عبرها الحركة الإسلامية للثأر من ثورة ديسمبر المجيدة ولإستعادة حكمها التسلطي المؤود، بإرتكابها الآن للفظائع تحت شعارها اليائس البائس: فلترق كل الدماء. 

لقد حصدت الحرب المستمرة في كافة أركان البلاد، وخلال أقل من الأسبوع، المئات من القتلي والآلاف من الجرحى من المدنيين الأبرياء- أطفالاً ونساءاً ورجالاً- حيث يتم ترويع وإرهاب المواطنين، وحرمانهم من الخدمات الصحية بقتل ومحاصرة الأطباء والعاملين في القطاع الصحي، وإستهداف المستشفيات بالقصف وإخراجها من الخدمة، إضافة لبدء موجات النزوح الداخلي واللجوء لدول الجوار لعشرات الآلاف من المُروعِين بالعنف،وتسببها في الدمار الهائل للبنى التحتية الهشة في البلاد، من مستشفيات، وإمدادات الكهرباء والمياه، والمدارس، وغيرها من بنى تحتية أساسية. كما يواجه المواطنون الحصار وعدم الحركة في الوصول لاهلهم وللمناطق الآمنة، واستحالة حصولهم على الاحتياجات الأساسية من الغذاء والدواء والماء والكهرباء، وعدم إستقرار الإتصال والإنترنت، وإحتمال الدخول في تعتيم كامل بالبلاد. 

نطالب، نحن الموقعون، المجتمع الدولي بممارسة أقصى الضغوط لإيقاف الحرب، خاصة القصف الجوي ومضادات الطيران، وتنظيم مسارات ومناطق آمنة لتقديم العون الإنساني العاجل، بإدارة ومراقبة أطراف دولية وسودانية محايدة. 

ونحن إذ نقف ضد هذه الحرب، ندرك أن هدفها الخفي والنهائي هو عسكرة الحياة في بلادنا، والقضاء على جذور وبذور الحياة المدنية والحكم المدني الديمقراطي الذي إنتصرت له ثورة ديسمبر بسلميتها، وفي دكها لحصون إستبداد وتسلط الإسلام السياسي والمؤتمر الوطني، والذي يعمل عبر حربه الضروس الحالية لهزيمتها وإعادة عقارب الساعة الى الوراء... ولكن هيهات.

إن إنحيازنا ونضالنا المشهود من اجل الديمقراطية الكاملة خلال العقود الثلاثة من تسلط المؤتمر الوطني، لم يستثني قضية الجيش الوطني المهني الواحد كأحد مداميك الحكم والدولة المدنية، في مقابل تعدد الجيوش والمليشيات التي صنعها النظام البائد. فنحن أدرى بما فعلته هذه الجيوش المتعددة من صناعة المؤتمر الوطني في حروبها ضد مواطنيّ جنوب السودان ودارفور وجبال النوبة والنيل الأزرق، وغيرها من مناطق. إن معارك اليوم ليست في سبيل إصلاح المنظومة العسكرية والأمنية في شي، بل هي حرب عسكرة الحياة ضد مدنيتها، تحت راية إنقلاب إسلاموي أرعن يتستر عبر حملات الدعاية الحربية الرخيصة وتعبئة المواطنيين مهدوديّ الحيل منذ إنقلاب البرهان وحميدتي في 25 اكتوبر. 

نحن الموقعين أدناه، نقف ضد تعدد الجيوش فيما سبق والأن وغداً. وسنهتف فقط شعب واحد جيش واحد بعد إكتمال كافة الخطوات السلمية للإصلاح الأمني والعسكري، وتحت مظلة وإشراف مشروع إنتقالي وطني مدني ديمقراطي. 

 لن ترهبنا المزايدة بالوطنية وحملات التخوين وخديعة توظيف إسم القوات المسلحة الباسلة في غير هويتها وتاريخها المجيد قبل محاولات تلويثه من قبل الطغمة الإسلاموية، كما لن تنجح الحملات الدعائية والإرهابية في خلق غطاء شعبي للحرب الجارية، فجماهير شعبنا أكثر وعياً، ولن تنطلي عليها الخدع والأكاذيب. وستقف سداً منيعاً ضد وأد ثورة ديسمبر الظافرة المنتصرة، وضد الحرب، وضد عسكرة الحياة، وضد أدلجة الحكم المدني الديمقراطي. 

وإزاء الوضع الإنساني المآساوي الذي تمر به بلادنا الآن، فإننا نطالب المجتمع الدولي ممارسة أقصى درجات الضغط من أجل: 

·         وقف إطلاق النار فوراً، وبما يتيح حرية حركة المدنيين ، وسهولة تزودهم بالمواد الغذائية أو الحصول على الاحتياجات الطبية وغيرها من إحتياجات اساسية. 

·         إيقاف القصف الجوي واستخدام مضادات الطيران، والذي يسبب خسائر كبيرة في الأرواح والمنشآت المدنية.

·         السماح للمدنيين الذين يرغبون في مغادرة العاصمة وغيرها من مناطق ملتهبة الى  المناطق والولايات المجاورة الآمنة بالمغادرة فوراً ودون التعرض لهم بالأذى أثناء مرورهم بمناطق تواجد القوات المتحاربة. 

·         تقديم الدعم الإنساني اللازم عاجلاً للمناطق التي تدور فيها الحرب ، خاصة في الخرطوم ودارفور وكردفان، خاصة المستشفيات والأحياء التي لا تتوفر فيها المواد الغذائية.

·         إدانة إزدياد أنشطة عناصر نظام المؤتمر الوطني المباد الذين باتوا يتوعدون ويهددون قادة الحركة الديمقراطية والمدنية في البلاد بالقتل والتنكيل. وفرض عقوبات على الذين اشعلوا الحرب و شاركوا فيها بنشاط ويرفضون ايقافها. 

ختاما، فاننا نطالب بالضغط على طرفي الحرب للايفاء بتعهداتهما في استعادة الانتقال المدني الديمقراطي وبسلطة مدنية كاملة. فالحرب لم تشتعل الا لاجهاض الانتقال. وايقاع عقوبات مستهدفة على اي طرف يخل بهذا التعهد.

We, the undersigned, are civil and political leaders, academia, and pro-democracy actors, stand strongly against the current war in Sudan, sparked by the fundamentalist totalitarian system of the Islamist Movement between the Sudan Army Forces (SAF) and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF). This is a no-win war that only feeds on bodies of innocent victims, and through which the Islamic Movement is seeking revenge from the glorious December Revolution in a bid to restore their defunct dictatorship, and deploying their desperate, miserable slogan: Let all blood be shed- فلترق كل الدماء fal Touraq kul al-dimaa!

In less than a week, this war has spread across the country, claiming hundreds of innocent lives and causing injuries to thousands of civilians of all ages. Citizens are being terrorized and deprived of essential healthcare services, hospitals are being shelled and put out of service, and panic is driving tens of thousands in waves both internally and across the borders to neighboring countries. Besides, this insane war is dealing tremendous damage to the already fragile infrastructure of the country, including hospitals, power and water supply networks, schools, etc. Citizens are unable to move to safer zones or have access to basic needs, and with the precarious availability of communications and internet service, the country may well fall into utter blackout.

We urge the international community to exert pressure on the warring parties to bring this war to an end, particularly aerial bombardment, and anti-aircraft missiles, and to create humanitarian corridors and safe zones for the provision of urgent humanitarian aid under the supervision of neutral international and Sudanese parties.

We are fully aware that the ultimate goal of this war is to militarize life in the country and uproot the very foundations of civil life and the democratic rule laid down by the December Revolution, which peacefully managed to thwart the despotism of the Islamists and the defunct National Congress Party (NCP), which is now desperately trying to turn back the clock.

Throughout our unwavering struggle against the NCP’s three decades of dictatorship, we never downplayed the importance of having a unified professional national army as one of the pillars of civil rule. We have seen what the multiple militias created by the defunct regime have done in their war against the people of South Sudan, Darfur, the Nuba Mountains, the Blue Nile, and other areas. The current war is not driven by a desire to reform the military and security apparatus. Far from it, its aim is to militarize life in the hands of an ill-sighted Islamist coup that has been employing cheap propaganda campaigns to mobilize the people behind the Burhan-Hemedti 25th of October coup.

We have always stood firmly against having multiple armies, and we will continue to do so now and forever. We will stand in favor of establishing a unified professional national army once arrangements for security and military reform have been put in place as part of a fully-fledged transition to democracy and civil rule.

We will not be terrified by the Islamist junta’s tactics of hiding behind the armed forces’ brand and glorious history before its exploitation by the Islamists. Our people are too smart to buy their lies and fabrications. They will stand firmly in the defense of the glorious December revolution against war and the militarization of civil life.

In view of the tragic humanitarian conditions our country is facing, we are calling upon the international community to press for:

•         An immediate ceasefire to facilitate the free movement of civilians and ensure their free access to food, medical care, and other essential needs.

•         Cessation of aerial bombardment and the use of anti-aircraft missiles, which cause massive loss of life and damage to civil infrastructure.

•         Allowing civilians who wish to move out of the capital and other war zones to safer zones to proceed unharmed.

•         Providing immediate humanitarian support to the war zones, particularly Khartoum, Darfur, and Kordofan.

•         Condemning the increased activity of the dissolved National Congress regime elements, who are now publicly threatening to kill leaders of the democratic and civil movements. Also, imposing punishment on those who have instigated the war.

Finally, we reiterate our demand for pushing the warring parties to fulfil their pledges to transition to democracy and full civilian rule. Any party that fails to meet their pledges should be sanctioned.
