JOINT STATEMENT - Expel the Islamic Republic of Iran ambassador

Subject: Mr. Ahmad Sadeghi, the Islamic Republic of Iran’s ambassador in Australia

Dear Hon Mr Albanese and Hon Ms Wong

We the undersigned are expressing our serious concern to the newly posted message of Mr. Ahmad Sadeghi, the Islamic Republic of Iran’s ambassador in Australia.
His message is spreading hatred against the state of Israel and pointing out a deadline for the whole destruction of the only Jewish state in the world.

He is praising “Al Aqsa storm” terror operation on 7th October 2023, the deadliest attack on the soil of Israel after Holocaust, repeating the IRI Supreme Leader’s message who is insisting that Israel be removed from the world map.

This message of hate and violence promotion is entirely unacceptable and must be strongly condemned by the Australian government.

As Iranians and the Jewish community living in Australia, we warned the Albanese Government numerous times about the threat and have on many occasions, requested that they take meaningful action against Islamic Republic officials since 2022.

Unfortunately, it appears that the Australian government prefers to tolerate the spreading of hatred, violence and racism by the political representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

"We once more request that the Australian Government expel the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran from Australia. His hateful and violent rhetoric should have no place here."
