Statement by the WE campaign on behalf of Iranian Communities in Australia

6/8/2024

The Iranian communities in Australia is deeply concerned by the recent hate speech posted by Ahmad Sadeghi, the Islamic regime occupiers of Iran’s ambassador in Australia, against Israel. His remarks incite violence and hatred, which are not only unacceptable but also dangerous.

1. Promotion of Hate:Sadeghi has issued statements forecasting the demise of Israel, encouraging further hostility, and referencing a timeline for supposed desirable events that promote conflict.
2. Violent Incitement:** He glorifies violent operations and leaders who advocate for the annihilation of Israel, fostering a narrative of continuous conflict and bloodshed.
3. Condemnation by the Community:** We, the Iranian community in Australia, unreservedly condemn these statements. They do not represent our values of peace, tolerance, and coexistence.
4. Petition EN4559 and Call to Action:In  petition EN4559 signed by 96% of the Iranian communities in Australia, they urged the Australian government to stand in solidarity with the Iranian people fighting for their freedom against the tyrannical I.R. regime and the IRGC terrorist organization. They cited 46 years of unforgettable crimes and global threats through terrorism supported by the regime. Highlighting recent brutal suppression following Mahsa Amini's death, they called attention to severe human rights abuses, including genocide, torture, and the mistreatment of civilians. The petition stressed that the I.R. regime's existence is a threat to global peace and human rights, arguing that diplomatic and commercial ties could contribute to systematic violations, including the oppression of women, child abuse, and money laundering. The Iranian community is seeking support for their fight to overthrow the regime and restore peace. The petition requests actions such as expelling the Islamic Republic's ambassador, imposing sanctions on the IRGC, severing ties with the regime, and ensuring Australian taxpayers' money is not used to support the regime's brutality.

The presence of such rhetoric in Australia is intolerable. We urge the authorities to consider the gravity of his actions and uphold the values of peace and respect that Australia stands for.
