Online Q-commerce delivery scams

Online Q-commerce delivery scams
The Issue
Ordering food online is meant to make life easier, especially for those who face challenges that keep them at home, like myself dealing with depression. Unfortunately, this convenience often turns into a source of frustration, especially when food delivery services like Swiggy, and others, deliver wrong or incomplete orders. These issues are compounded by the ineffective customer support teams, making it difficult to address the problem.
Receiving incorrect food orders or even other online orders may seem like a minor inconvenience to some, but for many, it is inexcusable. The trust between the customer and the delivery service is broken. Swiggy and similar platforms need to implement stricter measures to ensure that all orders are checked for accuracy rather than abusing consumer trust with faulty services because who is there to question them?
Quick commerce is one of the fastest-growing segments, projected to reach $5.3 billion in revenue by 2025, according to Statista. It caters to customers who demand ultra-fast (10-30 minute) deliveries of groceries and essentials. Recent years have accelerated its adoption and now it has become an essential service in urban cities, where it accounts for 5-6 percent of household grocery spending. Swiggy
Instamart, Blinkit, and Zepto control over 85 percent of the market.
Recently, on December 7 2025 Swiggy Ltd delivered a non vegetarian pizza and started they can't refund because "You cancelled it" doesn't that seem like a joke or insult to a middle class person just because they are major players in the market.
What should be done:
1. Open box deliveries wherever possible.
2. Develop an efficient and responsive customer support team.
3. Prevent fraudulent Indian legal companies operating online (For example, Online Legal India whose case runs in the HC) from cheating gullible Indian customers who seek such platforms' help in solving such grievances when other measures fail (I faced a scam here too wasting a month of my resources)
By ensuring complete and correct deliveries, these companies can gain the trust and confidence of millions who rely on them daily.
Let us urge Swiggy and other food delivery companies to take immediate actions. Sign this petition to demand that they provide an efficient and trustworthy service for all their valued customers.
The Indian customer deserves way better.
