The Issue

My name is Daniil Malyshev, and I came to Finland seeking safety and dignity after facing inhumane treatment in Russia because I am LGBT. Living openly as myself in Russia put me in danger every day. I was harassed, isolated, and treated as less than human simply for who I am.

I applied for asylum in Finland, but the migration service decided that my application wasn't strong enough. Now my case is in the Administrative Court of Helsinki — and this could be one of my last chances to stay.

Returning to Russia is not a safe or realistic option for me. I don’t even speak proper Russian anymore, which isolates me even further and makes it impossible to rebuild a life there.

Please help me show the Finnish authorities that I deserve to live in safety and freedom, just like anyone else. Every signature brings more attention to my case and shows that people care. Thank you for standing with me.
