       Children are starving to death.

Dear friends,

I am sure you are struggling to comprehend what is happening in Gaza. No matter what anyones view is of the events leading up to this dark time in Gaza,no-one could justify the unimaginable suffering that is the present day lived reality of the people of Gaza. As a teacher, I have struggled to discuss the horrors of Gaza with my students. How do you explain such barbaric acts to a post primary school student?

How can we watch as men,women, and children are bombed to death and starved to dead ? The images coming out of Gaza are truly heartbreaking, reminiscent of tragedies once believed to be confined to history books. It is heart-wrenching to witness young, beautiful children deprived of a future—left with no home, no hospital care, no food, and tragically, no hope. These children deserve more; these people need our help and our voice.

We call on the European Union, which has the power to intervene and ensure vital aid is allowed into Gaza. The ongoing situation, which many classify as war crimes and genocide, is causing unbearable suffering among the Palestinian population. This man-made famine is claiming lives day by day, and it is imperative that global leaders and governments, especially the EU, exert their influence to put an end to this terrible suffering. 

Concrete steps must be taken,we can not sit back and simply do nothing. The EU can rally its member states to demand that humanitarian corridors are opened, allowing much-needed aid, food, medical supplies, and relief workers unrestricted access to those in dire need.The EU could leverage its economic and diplomatic ties to put  pressure on Israel to complying with international humanitarian laws immediately.

The lack of action will result of the death of thousands of innocent men,women and children.Historically, the EU has stood as a beacon of hope and a guardian of human rights and justice; it is time for its leaders to reaffirm these values by acting decisively to end the blockade and facilitate the delivery of life-saving aid.

Bad things happen when good people do nothing. 

No child should face the horrors of war, and no family should endure famine caused by political strife. The EU has the power to  intervene, to help save lives, and to help bring peace to this war-torn land.

Please sign this petition urging the EU to intercede for the well-being and dignity of the people of Gaza. Together, we can make a difference, save lives, and bring hope back to the hopeless and to STOP this horror.
