The Issue

For decades, the Mr. Olympia has stood for discipline, elite conditioning, athletic excellence and respect.

Those on stage pour years of effort into this moment, and fans invest passion, time, and financial support in the sport they love. The Master of Ceremonies should honour that dedication, not undermine it.

However, many feel that Bob Cicherillo, as the MC, is no longer upholding the respect, professionalism, and spirit that the event deserves. His commentary has become increasingly dismissive and disrespectful:

  • Referring to Regan Grimes, who qualified for the Olympia, Cicherillo said: “I don’t think he can do much there… he’s going to be fighting for 12th or 15th,” and even suggested that Grimes shouldn't compete at all.
  • In a public back-and-forth with Nick Walker, Cicherillo bluntly stated he'd be the one announcing Nick Walker in 8th place, an undeniably condescending position for an MC.
  • And during a commentary segment targeting Phil Clahar, Cicherillo declared: “Just retire already!” and called him a “crybaby.”
No MC should demean the very athletes they are meant to uplift especially on bodybuilding’s grandest stage.

We call upon the Mr. Olympia organizers to remove Bob Cicherillo from his role as MC and appoint someone who embodies respect for the athletes, professionalism, and the true spirit of the sport.
