Why should banks, insurance and finance be able to charge for you to call them on a premium line when other businesses cannot?  It is fundamentally wrong for you to have to pay a premium to make a telephone call to get service when you are also paying for the service.

The government has seen the bad practice of business in general using these lines and has banned it from 13/6/2014, but has provided an exemption for some of the worst offenders.

The telephone industry made the cost of phone calls from your home cheaper by you PAYING for ‘Free’ calls at different periods of the week, then moved nearly all business on to number which charged you more than the standard cost of a telephone call, one of the best ‘Con Tricks’ ever making billions for business and telephone companies.

This has partly been rectified by the new regulations, but to allow the finance industry to continue to abuse customers is unacceptable.

You should support this Petition as it is only Equitable that customers should not have to pay for services and then be charged for the support for the service over the cost of a standard telephone call.
