Introduce (more) playable female main characters for the Assassin's Creed series

Introduce (more) playable female main characters for the Assassin's Creed series
The Issue
An overwhelming majority of gamers (of any sex) would love to have a playable female main character (and therefore buy the game). The approach of AC:Liberation was a good start but shouldn't be the end! History has unlimited entry points and stories to offer, where women could influence the corridors of power (and in real history they indeed have!). The french revolution, victorian age London, St. Petersburg in the time of Peter the Great and many, many, MANY more - these scenarios would be grand for a female character to play, even linked like the first three games were through Desmond.
If Ubisoft is - as they say - lacking the "funds" to introduce a playable female character, they should either take a look on crowdfunding or get a pre-order system going if they don't trust the fans of the AC series to buy a game that has been made with as much attention to detail and history as the games before.
It makes me (and many fellow players, too) very sad, that some management decision once again limits the community to playing (just) another male character and ignoring the vast opportunities in history AND gaming to spice up the series with some change and introduce some fictionrealistic and contemporary answer to the demand of the players as well as to sexism in gaming.
