Mike Tyson is set to guest star on NBC's long-running crime drama, Law and Order: Special Victim's Unit. His publicist announced that he will shoot the episode, which will air on Feb. 6, 2013.

According to USA Today, Tyson will portray Reggie Rhodes, “a murderer on death row who is also the victim of a difficult childhood.”

Am I the only one who remembers that Mike Tyson was CONVICTED and sent to prison for raping Desiree Washington? I am sorry but I see this as just another way to clean-up his image.

I am extremely disappointed as I love this show and have watched it for years. I have even suggested rape crisis advocates watch the show for tips and love Mariska Hargitay and her work with Joyful Heart Foundation and "Telling Amy's Story."

As an advocate and a survivor, my heart aches at the thought that this man gets a free pass because he is famous! I can't even begin to imagine what this news would mean to his victim.

I am asking for you to sign this petition requesting NBC to re-consider casting convicted rapist Mike Tyson on Law and Order SVU or to pull the episode! I believe this is a slap in the face to survivors everywhere.
