Stop Animal Cruelty: Demand Accountability from These Global Restaurants!

The Issue

The 2023 Restaurant Report has exposed Focus Brands (the parent company of Cinnabon, Jamba, Auntie Anne's, and more), Inspire Brands (the parent company of Dunkin’, Sonic Drive-In, and more), and Au Bon Pain as worldwide companies failing to show any progress on their cage-free egg promises.

These companies pledged to ban the use of cruel cages in their global supply chains years ago. Today, there has yet to be a public indication that any of these restaurants honored their promises.

Cages are so small, and packed with birds, that the hens can’t move or spread their wings. Often, their body parts are caught in the caging, resulting in fractured or broken bones, deformities, and severe feather loss. Some hens, exhausted or unable to move, are trampled to death by their confined cage mates. These cages are not only cruel to animals, but they also pose a serious food safety risk to consumers. Hens in these cages are forced to live, breathe, and lay eggs for human consumption while trapped amongst feces and rotting bodies. Eggs from caged hens are up to 25 times more likely to contain salmonella.

These three companies know all about the cruel, dangerous conditions of cages and promised their consumers that they would put an end to this animal abuse. So why haven’t they publicly published their progress on ending cages throughout their supply chains? Have they made any global progress at all?

Hundreds of companies around the world are ditching cages and have the reports to prove it. So it is unacceptable that these four global companies refuse to be transparent about their progress! By doing so, they are seemingly deceiving customers, harming animals, and profiting off the cruelty they said they would end.

Please join us in signing this petition so that we can tell these untrustworthy restaurants to stop falling behind their competitors and start reporting cage-free progress!
