Todd Christopher Young is a prominent American attorney and politician, currently serving as the senior United States Senator from Indiana, a position he has held since 2017. A member of the Republican Party, Young was elected to the Senate after defeating the Democratic candidate in the 2016 general election, succeeding retiring Senator Dan Coats. Prior to his tenure in the Senate, he represented Indiana's 9th congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives from 2011 to 2017. Young has also served as the chair of the National Republican Senatorial Committee from 2019 to 2021. His educational background includes a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from the U.S. Naval Academy, an MBA from the University of Chicago, a Master's in American Politics from the University of London, and a JD from Indiana University.
