Todd Spitzer is an American attorney and politician currently serving as the District Attorney of Orange County, California. He won the position in 2018, successfully challenging incumbent Tony Rackauckas. Spitzer's career in law and politics spans several decades, beginning as a deputy district attorney from 1990 to 1996 and later as an assistant district attorney under Rackauckas from 2008 to 2010. A member of the Republican Party, Spitzer has also served as a member of the California State Assembly. In terms of education, he holds a JD from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law, a Master's in Public Policy from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Bachelor's degree from the University of California, Los Angeles. Additionally, he has been a teacher, reserve police officer, Chairman of the Orange County Criminal Justice Coordinating Council, and an Orange County Supervisor.
