Tim Sandoval has been serving as the Mayor of Pomona, California, since 2016. He was re-elected in 2020 with a significant majority. Born elsewhere, Sandoval moved to Pomona at the age of nine and has since become deeply involved in the community. He attended local schools, including Pomona High School, and later graduated from the University of California, Riverside. After graduating, Sandoval returned to Pomona to help others access college. He led youth programs at the Pomona Valley Community Development Center and taught English at a local school. In 2001, he co-founded Bright Prospect, a mentoring organization that has helped over 2,000 low-income youth earn their Bachelor's degrees.
