Summer Lynn Lee, born in 1987, is an American politician serving as the U.S. Representative for Pennsylvania's 12th congressional district since 2023. A member of the Democratic Party, she made history by becoming the first Black woman from Pennsylvania elected to the U.S. House of Representatives. Before her tenure in Congress, Lee served as a member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from 2019 to 2022. In the 2022 election, she was the Democratic nominee for Pennsylvania's 12th congressional district, securing her spot in the general election with a primary victory by less than 1% of the vote.
