Sheena Rena Britton is a 4th generation resident of Sanford, Florida, born and raised in historic downtown Sanford. She has lived in Sanford for 40 years, and her family has been part of the community since the 1800s. Sheena was appointed as Commissioner for District 1 in 2020, becoming the first African American commissioner in that district since Sanford's establishment in 1877.
