Rep. Abigail Spanberger is a U.S. Representative for Virginia's 7th congressional district, serving since January 2019. Prior to her political career, she spent nearly a decade serving as a operations officer for the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) in the foreign service. A Democrat, Spanberger has focused her legislative efforts on improving healthcare and education, combating climate change, and enhancing national security. She is known for her commitment to bipartisanship and advocacy for rural communities. She is the first woman to represent this district and the first Democrat to do so in nearly 50 years.
