Raphael Gamaliel Warnock, born in 1969, is an American pastor, writer, and politician. He has served as the junior United States Senator from Georgia since 2021, representing the Democratic Party. Warnock is also the senior pastor of Atlanta's historic Ebenezer Baptist Church, a position he has held since 2005. In his academic career, Warnock earned a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Morehouse College, followed by a Master of Divinity (M.Div.) and Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.) from Union Theological Seminary, where he also completed a Doctorate in Systematic Theology. His career combines leadership in both religious and political spheres, advocating for social justice and community development.
