The International Air Transport Association (IATA) is a trade association of the world’s airlines founded in 1945. Headquartered in Montreal, Canada, it represents approximately 290 airlines or 82% of the total air traffic. IATA supports airlines by simplifying processes and increasing passenger convenience while reducing costs and improving efficiency. It also helps to formulate industry policy on critical aviation issues. The organization's primary aim is to promote safe, regular, and economical air transport for the benefit of people worldwide.
