Governador Romeu Zema is a Brazilian businessman and politician who currently serves as the Governor of Minas Gerais, Brazil. Born Romeu Zema Neto in 1964, he started his political career in 2018 when he was elected to the position with the Brazilian political party, Partido Novo. Prior to his political career, Zema was a successful entrepreneur, heading Grupo Zema, a conglomerate founded by his family that operates in various sectors such as retail services, auto dealerships, and fuel distribution. Known for his pro-business stance and liberal economic views, Zema has advocated for free-market policies and fiscal responsibility during his tenure as governor.
