Close Schools/Colleges/Universities down for an appropriate amount of time amidst COVID19.We would like the government to at least consider closing schools/colleges/universities down in the coming weeks or as soon as possible, in addition to taking necessary actions to prevent further spread.More detailsWe would like the Government or Parliament to enforce this action due to the growing fear among parents and students that attend school. The ability to focus or concentrate is affected in addition to the growing fears of the Corona-virus. In our view, the government and health officials around the world are more "reactive" rather than "proactive". This will result in more spread as time is given for the virus to do so. We hope to come to an agreement as soon as possible in a timely manner.

There are thousands of firefighters on the frontline battling fires across many parts of New South Wales who will continue to be there for the remainder of this Summer. Sign this petition and demand the NSW government provides the most practical and effective protection for our firefighters. Bushfire smoke contains many cancer causing chemicals. Air quality conditions in Sydney and Social Media posts over the last few weeks have shown metropolitan residents what it is like to experience a small sample of what firefighters experience on the fire front day in, day out. Fire Service Organisations, at this stage, do not provide adequate and practical respiratory protection suitable for the task of fighting bushfires. This causes firefighters, volunteers and paid alike, to purchase their own equipment just to stay safe while protecting the people of New South Wales. P2 masks that are provided are grossly inadequate for the mitigation of the hazards that bushfire smoke causes. Where self contained breathing apparatus is available it provides only a limited short term working time-frame that doesn't align with the protracted nature of large bushfire incidents. Appropriate, higher level respiratory protection needs to be funded and supplied to firefighters immediately. There are several suitable alternatives available on the market currently. No firefighter should be exposed to increased cancer risks needlessly while serving the people of New South Wales.

We, the undersigned, respectfully call on the Premier of NSW, Gladys Berejiklian, and the NSW Cabinet, to reconsider their decision to knock down two perfectly fine sports stadiums - the Olympic Stadium and Sydney Football Stadium - at a staggering cost of $2Billion, to replace them with new ones, at a time when there is ZERO public demand to replace either. We are tired of taxpayer dollars being lavished on building facilities for Sports Big Business, while community sport withers on the vine for lack of facilities and resources.We, the undersigned concerned citizens of NSW, believe our money could be better spent with the likes of 100 X $10 million projects being funded across the state, so towns, suburbs and regions could see a thousand fields, pools, courts and arenas bloom, doing something for the wider people of NSW and not merely the tiny percentage involved in elite sport. We believe some of the money could be used to lower registration fees for kids playing a variety of sports, to remove the obstacles that prevent so many from participating.This would still allow nearly a billion dollars left over to refurbish the current stadiums, and put much-needed money into other community resources, like schools, hospitals, theatres, galleries, homeless shelters and the like. These three great Australians could see single-use non-biodegradable plastic bags banned across Australia, thanks to existing bans in South Australia, Tasmania, Northern Territory, the ACT, and an impending ban in Queensland. Support for existing bans is overwhelming. In South Australia, 81% of the consumers strongly support the ban. As do 73% of Territorians, and 70% of Australians living in the ACT. Currently, Australians use an estimated four to six billion plastic bags each year. That’s 10 million bags every day. Every minute, we send 7,150 plastic bags to landfill. It's every parent's worst nightmare. There have now been five deaths from drug overdoses at music festivals in the last few months – just like my son Daniel who died at a festival in January 2012.My world fell apart when police arrived at my door to tell me my boy had died at a festival. There's no other word to describe it but horror.What devastates me further is knowing we could stop this madness. 5 young people, daughters and sons, have died in a year. My son made a mistake in taking a drug. It wasn't what he thought it was, and it killed him.Doctors and experts are saying Australian festivals need to urgently introduce 'drug checking services' to stop more deaths.They're common in UK and other countries. The 'pill testing' services tell people exactly what substance they would be about to take – and it's helping stop deaths. The Queensland Government are considering it, but too many kids are dying and it's not yet policy.I can't get my son back but I want to make sure no-one else has to go through the hell of losing their child to a mistake like I did.I'm pleading with you – please help me stop more young people dying at festivals this summer. Summary:  Chase Walker-Steven is a 4 year old boy who suffers from a severe case of Spastic Quadraplegic Cerebal Palsy and Epilepsy after having a reaction to vaccinations within hours of his birth.  On the eve of May 19 2017 up to 30 police officers and 2 FACS workers descended on the Church Of Ubuntu where the family was seeking refuge after going through an ordeal in Queensland to which Lady Cliento Hospital tried to kidnap him also, to remove Chase Walker-Steven from the care of his parents over test results from May 1 2017 which showed Chase had low potassium levels. Cini and Marc, Chase's parents are PRO CHOICE. They decided to stop immunising Chase at 2 years old because of the reactions he was having to them.    THIS IS NOT A WAR ABOUT VACCINES!  Chase had been at an appointment the day before and results showed Chase's potassium levels were fine. Chase's parents Marc Steven and Cini Walker had been feeding Chase a plant based diet along with cannabis oil to which he was thriving on and was healthy as agreed to by doctors at John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle that very night. After a lengthy negotiation Chase's parents agreed to accompany him to the hospital for observation and tests. During this time police and FACS workers were plotting on how to get Chase away from his parents long enough so they could medically kidnap this little boy under the direction of the Director General.Upon arrival at John Hunter Hospital Marc, Cini and Chase were placed in a psychiatric hold room in the Emergency Department of the hospital. Tests were done and doctors advised all involved that Chase was in no danger and his test results were fine so he could leave the the hospital and go home. This was never going to happen. Police and FACS had already decided that Chase was going into the care of the state no matter what the outcome. FACS advised Cini and Marc he would not be going home with them and would be taken into their custody. Shortly after Marc Steven went to use the bathroom and was barricaded in by 4 police officers and his screams were described as being that of someone caught in a house fire. Cini was then dragged and pulled from Chase's wheelchair but she clung on wrapping her arms and legs around the chair. She begged police and FACS workers to let her go with her son to wherever they were taking him and was finally told she could so she let go. They LIED!! Cini was then wrestled to the ground and handcuffed. Physically assaulted in front of her 4 year old disabled son. Imagine what was going through that little boys mind whilst these people were keeping his parents from him on ZERO grounds. Hearing his parents screaming and crying because he was being taken from them. Imagine the confusion and anxiety that Chase would've been feeling at that moment and every moment since. Cini was then removed from the hospital. Supporters who were outside ran to help after hearing her screams and were pepper sprayed by police as was Cini. She was then conveyed to the police station and released without charged. CINI AND MARC DO NOT KNOW WHERE THEIR CHILD IS!! CINI AND MARC DO NOT KNOW IF HE IS BEING CARED FOR PROPERLY!! CINI AND MARC NOW NEED TO FIGHT THE STATE TO HAVE THEIR SON RETURNED TO THEM!! CINI AND MARC ARE FIGHTING IN 2 STATES TO KEEP THEIR SON!! Chase is allergic to the synthetic medicines and foods that hospitals administer and as a result could DIE!! Which is why his parents decided to change his diet after doing extensive research on alternate forms of medicine. That little boy was happy and as healthy as any little boy with his condition would be. He is loved and adored by his family and support network and needs to be returned to his parents. He is non-verbal, he can't communicate. He'd be scared as he would be wondering where his Mummy and Daddy are and why he can't see or hear them. His sisters Nevaeh and Summer miss him dearly. This is such an injustice. Police and FACS are the only ones who committed a crime that night by removing a healthy happy boy from his loving family. Chase needs to be returned home to his family. Immediately. It's time to ban the 'no pets' clause in tenancy agreements. Too many families are forced to depart with their loved and adored pets/family members due to pet unfriendly landlords. These pets are almost always given up and placed into kennels, causing crowding and unnecessary euthanasia. These numbers are only growing. We were unable to find a home for years, and were forced to stay with many different friends over the years due to the utter lack of 'pet friendly' homes and unkind landlords, I know many people who have faced the same struggle. The RSPCA and Tenants Union of NSW have already begun to challenge the 'no pets' clause. This discrimination should not be tolerated, and a ban on the clause is well over-due. Renters should be able to own a pet without having to ask for permission from their landlord, as long as any damages (if any) are covered by the tenant there is no reason to continue disallowing pets. Keeping a pet is the individual's choice. As an adult, you should not need to seek permission for this. Keeping a pet is generally less damaging to property than having a child, it's time for change.

My name is Rebekah & I am "The little girl that nobody wanted". I was hit, strangled, locked in dark sheds for 90% of daylight hours. Trapped in a neglectful system for over 11 years. My mum abandoned me, but then my life became hell – the system that was meant to care for me descended into abuse and neglect. The ‘carer’ dragged me 50m by my hair, and rubbed my brother’s face in vomit. Nothing was done. But I’m one of the lucky ones. Two toddlers quietly died in care recently, and no action has been taken to fix the lack of investigation that’s allowing this happen. Braxton Slager-Lewin was 22 months old. Lachlan Leslie was 21 months old. Channel 7 News found that every 7 hours a call is made about drug abuse, suffocation or sexual abuse. They are cries for help, but they’re not being answered or properly investigated. That’s because any investigation is led by the department that runs the system. This system has had so many inquiries, reviews & commissions yet nothing has changed in over 30 years. That’s not good enough anymore. After my childhood was taken from me by this awful neglect I can’t stay silent watching it ruin and take the lives of any more kids. We can’t allow more deaths to be quietly ignored. Please sign my petition asking Premier Baird & Minister Brad Hazzard to urgently introduce an independent foster care commission – that can crack down & investigate abuse of foster kids. SAVE SYDNEY CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL RANDWICK Cooper was 10 days old when we brought him to hospital with a viral illness. Transferred to Sydney Children’s Hospital (SCH) Randwick, it was unknown that his heart was suffering from myocarditis. Soon after arrival, he went into cardiac arrest needing CPR for 26minutes. If not for the presence of the SCH Cardiac Surgical Team, Cooper would not have survived. Cardiac Surgical services at SCH are essential for the safety of all children being cared for at Randwick. SCH has provided safe cardiac surgery for decades. The State Government is proposing to close the SCH cardiac surgical service. Critically ill babies and children will face life threatening delays in receiving treatment if our service closes. Cooper would not have survived waiting for a Westmead Team to mobilise & travel 43 km down the M4 to Randwick. SCH provides comprehensive health care to 40% of the children of NSW, and receives 75% of state-wideemergency retrievals of critically ill children. Complex surgeries and treatments, including comprehensive cancer care, required by children at SCH need on-site cardiac surgery for support. Please sign our petition to instruct the NSW State Government to maintain an appropriately funded cardiac surgical program at SCH Randwick.

I’ve stayed silent until now. I needed to rebuild my life. But I can’t sit back and let the monster who drugged and sexually assaulted me as a child be released on parole before completing his jail sentence, in a few short weeks. I was only 6 when a stranger gave me a bottle of Coca-Cola at my friends house. He was supposed to be our babysitter, it was supposed to be a fun filled weekend.  It turned out to be anything but, the next couple of days were a horrific nightmare, the whole time Guider had us he made sure we were drugged up enough to not put up a fight. Once drugged he would sexually assault us and photograph his disgusting actions. I was the last of Michael Guider’s 11 victims before he was thrown into jail - guilty of a disgusting 75 child sex crimes and the high profile death of Bondi schoolgirl Samantha Knight. I can’t bear the thought of another child's innocence taken away by this notorious paedophile killer. He’s still got two years of his 17 year sentence left - but he’ll be released on parole at the end of this month unless we fight back. I am fighting on behalf of all Michael Guider’s victims. I am petitioning the NSW Attorney General and the Parole Authority to urgently stop this man from being released until his sentence is complete. Guider’s shown no remorse for his victims - some of them are now dead, but I’m still here, and I am ready to fight.
