Fred Tovar is an accomplished public figure with a strong background in education and community service. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Saint Mary's College in Moraga and a Master's degree in Counseling/Education from San Jose State University. Tovar has held several key positions throughout his career, including Senior Director of Admissions and Recruitment at Santa Clara University's School of Education and Counseling Psychology. He has served as a City Councilor for the Gilroy City Council and as Vice President of the San Jose/Evergreen Valley College District Board of Trustees. Additionally, he has been President of the California Association of Latino Community College Trustees and a Board Member of the California Community College Trustees. Tovar has also contributed as Director of Student Affairs at Stanford University School of Medicine and President of the Gilroy Unified School District Board of Education.
