The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is a federal agency of the United States Department of Health and Human Services. Its primary role is to protect public health, ensuring the safety, efficacy, and security of human and veterinary drugs, vaccines and other biological products, and medical devices. It is also responsible for the safety and security of the country's food supply, cosmetics, dietary supplements, and products that give off electronic radiation, as well as for regulating the manufacturing, marketing, and distribution of tobacco products.
