David Sassoli

David Sassoli is an Italian politician and journalist who is currently serving as the President of the European Parliament. He began his career in journalism, working for various prominent Italian newspapers and television channels. Having a strong political affiliation with the Democratic Party in Italy, he was elected to the European Parliament in 2009, and has been serving as its President since July 2019. His political commitment is particularly focused on social issues, European integration and international affairs.
