Anita Davis is a prominent figure in Youngstown, Ohio, serving as the 6th Ward Councilwoman. Anita Davis joined the YPD in 1978 as one of the first female officers assigned to patrol duties. She rose through the ranks to become the first female Detective-Sergeant in the department. Her tenure spanned over 35 years, during which she was involved in various assignments, including traffic enforcement. After retiring from the police department in 2014, Davis transitioned into politics. She was elected to the Youngstown City Council in November 2015 and has since been an active advocate for community issues, particularly focusing on underserved residents and improving police-community relations.
