Animal Welfare Institute

The Animal Welfare Institute (AWI) is a non-profit organization committed to the mission of reducing animal suffering inflicted by humans. Established in 1951 and headquartered in Washington D.C., the United States, AWI conducts programs to improve animal welfare, protect endangered species, and eliminate animal experimentation. It also works to promote the humane treatment of farm and wild animals and companion animals. Through research, policy, and educational initiatives, the Animal Welfare Institute advocates for laws and regulations that support and maintain animals' wellbeing.
