Albanian Government

The Albanian Government is a parliamentary representative democracy based on the principles of separation and checks and balances of powers among the legislature, executive, and judiciary branches. The institution of the President serves as the head of state, while the Prime Minister functions as the head of government, leading the Council of Ministers. The Parliament of Albania, also known as the Assembly, is the law-making body of the country and includes 140 deputies elected every four years. Decision-making, implementation of laws, and governance of society are guided by the constitution and existing legislative frameworks.
